USARC - prototype telecommunications infrastructure modernization solution at the Fort Sheridan Army Reserve Complex
Challenge ended
Description
One Nation Innovation, on behalf of the United States Army Reserve Command (USARC), is seeking qualified vendors to deliver a prototype telecommunications infrastructure modernization solution at the Fort Sheridan Army Reserve Complex. This effort will serve as a testbed for secure, cyber-compliant, and non-disruptive infrastructure replacement that enables mission continuity, enhances digital readiness, and can scale across additional Reserve sites. Fort Sheridan’s current telecommunications systems are outdated, limiting operational effectiveness and hindering the command’s ability to maintain secure, resilient communications. Through the ONIX Other Transaction Authority (OTA), this challenge invites commercial, academic, and nonprofit innovators to prototype a repair-by-replacement model that aligns with Army Reserve Network Enterprise Center (ARNEC) standards and supports long-term sustainment.
Overall Objective
The Army Reserve’s current telecommunications infrastructure at Fort Sheridan is outdated and insufficient to support evolving mission requirements, cybersecurity protocols, and digital communications. Traditional procurement paths are too slow and often disrupt operational tempo. This effort seeks a flexible, phased, and rapid deployment model that enables secure, standards-based replacement of inside plant infrastructure while maintaining continuity of operations.
Problem Statement
The Army Reserve’s current telecommunications infrastructure at Fort Sheridan is aged and inadequate to support evolving mission requirements, cybersecurity protocols, and digital communications. Traditional procurement paths are too slow and often cause unacceptable disruption to mission tempo. A flexible, phased, and rapid deployment model is needed. One that enables secure, standards-based replacement of inside plant infrastructure while maintaining continuity of operations.
