NIWC Pacific - Software-as-a-Service (SaaS)platform
Active challenge
Description
Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific is seeking to modernize its core operational workflows for Scheduling, Maintenance, Integration, and Engineering of systems and lab operations. Current manual, disconnected processes cause scheduling conflicts, extended downtime, inefficient asset utilization, and delays in fielding capabilities to the Fleet. This challenge calls for an integrated, digital approach to improve lab and asset availability, accelerate configuration and validation, and enhance operational readiness.
Overall Objective
The goal is to prototype and validate a secure, cloud-native Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform that consolidates scheduling, asset lifecycle management, and standard operating procedure (SOP) workflows into a single intelligent system. The solution should reduce downtime, automate conflict resolution, enable real-time readiness visibility, and support compliance reporting, all in a secure Government cloud environment.
Problem Statement
NIWC Pacific’s reliance on outdated, manual methods limits its ability to optimize lab operations and meet the pace of Fleet needs. Scheduling conflicts delay testing, asset lifecycle visibility is limited, and SOP compliance relies heavily on human oversight. This creates operational friction in an environment where rapid integration, testing, and deployment are critical. The challenge is to deliver a modernized, integrated workflow platform that operates in contested or secure environments and is capable of scaling to additional labs or mission partners.
